History and achievements: Gargi Memorial Institute of Technology (GMIT), a pioneer in Engineering education, has successfully completed its glorious 12 years. The journey started with a lot of promises in 2011 in the Southern Fringe of Kolkata at Baruipur, the fruit orchard of Bengal. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). With the Joint venture in 2019 with JIS Group (The Largest Educational Initiative In Eastern India), the college received assistance with the highest standards and the 25 years of organizational experience that JIS Group has, which is now guiding GMIT towards becoming a hub of excellence in the years to come. GMIT, along with Rhode Island Public School in 2017 and Flemming College of Pharmacy in 2020, operating on the same college grounds, is now an academic epicenter in South 24 Parganas and has welcomed many scholars from the industry-academia and other fields, not to mention the Fortune 500 firms who visit every year to recruit the best talent. In less than its fifth year of existence, GMIT began to receive accolades and honors. To name a few, in 2017, we were ranked eighth among the "Best Emerging Engineering Colleges in India" due to its pedagogical excellence and professional infrastructure. It has been ranked number one as 'The Best Emerging Engineering College in West Bengal' by Times Engineering for four consecutive years (2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019). Zee 24 Ghanta awarded us the "Best Emerging and Promising Engineering College Award 2020" in 2020.
